Deborah "Debbie" K. Broshears

Deborah "Debbie" K Broshears, age 71, of East Peoria, Illinois, passed away on Saturday, April 20, 2024.

She was born in Peoria on December 14, 1952, to Melvin and Deloris (Lay) Sloan. She married Michael Broshears on September 13, 2007, and he survives. Also surviving are her children, Tamra Gama and David (Lori) Gama Jr.; Michael's children, Chris Broshears and Joseph Broshears; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and her siblings, Sally (Jerry) Coulter and Robert Davis. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Steven Sloan and David Sloan; and sister, Loretta Anderson.

Debbie worked for Heartcare Midwest/OSF for 32 years until her retirement. She was a member of the Bridgeway Community Church in Pekin for many years, where she met and married Michael.

Debbie had a passion for gardening. She also loved antiques and collecting many things, including Jadeite glassware, Hummel figurines and salt boxes.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial service will be held at Remmert Funeral Home on Saturday, May 4, 2024, at 2 p.m., with a visitation to start an hour prior at 1 p.m.
